Acoustic Jam Night
Acoustic Jam Night started in 2004 and has been going strong ever since. Held the first and third Tuesday of every month, year round, it has become a community gathering with upwards of 35 musicians playing at any given time and just as many people gathered for friendly conversation around the punch bowl. This is a 3 hour gig where musicians sign in to perform a song...if time allows, they get a 2nd, but if there are 35 musicians at Jam Night, their names go into a bowl and some will get to go a second time. This is an ideal jam for beginner and experienced alike. As long as the beginners are eager to improve and the experienced are willing to help. Many musicians just come to play along in the background while learning and building their confidence. Others like to be front and center and are willing to accompany anybody that asks!
An average of about 100 visitors come to see what will present itself...some nights are packed full of old time gospel and other times bluegrass takes over, most of the time there is a real mix of old gospel, country, bluegrass, and folk music though.
Friendships and groups have formed (marriages and bands) over the past decade, and although the founder, Corky Pals, has since passed on...the music continues.
