Really enjoying this
Shawn and I were chatting after this last session about how much fun we are having with it. Thanks so much for coming out to our March session, which was again just such a blast. It was good to see a few new faces as well with the addition of three youthful fiddlers to the group this month (not including my daughter Claire, who qualifies as a sub-youthful fiddler). Thanks Gary for bringing Gabriella and for coming back yourself. It looked like she had a good time. Scott Submitted by scott.mclewin on Tue, 2008/03/18 - 12:13am

Getting young people to play this type of music is one of my passions in life. I sometimes probably am even a little too pushy with them, and I don't mean to be.
But as an old fiddler told me a long time ago: "This music is fun to play and many musicians never discover that until much later". I am a big believer that each of us has a responsibility to introduce young people to playing music for the enjoyment of it, and the sight of all those young players there Saturday(All young ladies BTW) gives me confidence that this music will live on for a long time.
And that little girl with that tiny fiddle is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I have to get a picture sometime.
The next jam session will fall on a softball tournament day, so we'll have to see. I think the HABOT jam is Friday though, so I will look for everyone there.
