On Monday evenings all year long, the local Comhaltas chapter hosts a regular 9 PM session, led by Larry Reynolds and his son Mike. Before then, at 7 PM, Boston's Original Slow Session plays at the same great place but at a much more relaxed pace.

Start:

Come learn more songs! This class is for advanced beginners and up. You should know your basic major and minor chords. $10/class drop in, held Monday night 7;30-8:30 pm. in Milford NH. Call Amy Conley to register before coming so that we can contact you in case of cancellation. First class free, so come on down and see if this small group music experience is right for you! All instruments or singers welcome(keyboard available)! We learn music from folk, bluegrass, contemporary songwriters, gospel, some rock, all kinds of music that is good on acoustic instruments.

Old-Time jam open to all skill levels and instruments. The jam is usually a round robin type organization where we go in order around the circle and each participant has a chance to choose a tune.

Located in the lovely grounds of the South County Museum either on the grounds or in "the barn" which has exhibits of various Rhode Island history.

Acoustic trad jam every Monday, prior to an open mike. Jam starts at 5:30, goes to 7, then open mikers perform until 9. Kirby's serves only liquid refreshments, but there are five inexpensive and decent restaurants within a block, and Kirby's allows food to be carried in.

"Slow session" from 5:30 to 7; Jam with house band from 7-9; more later, often until closing.

The South County Old Time Jam is on the 2nd and 4th Monday nights, 7-9 pm, at the South County Museum in Narragansett, RI. Players of all abilities welcome!

We meet at each others homes, except that on the last Tuesday of the month we congregate at the music school called 317 in Yarmouth [that's it's address]. During the warmer months, however, we meet [weather permitting] at Post Office Park in the Old Port, downtown Portland, on Middle St. between Exchange and Market.Friendly, welcoming group, and all instruments are welcome.

Wickford Village, located in North Kingstown, Rhode Island will host a Bluegrass Jam Session on the Second Saturday of each month from 2-5pm throughout the year. The Jam takes place at Updike Park at the corner of Main and Brown Streets in Wickford in the spring and summer and after October will go indoors to Wilson's of Wickford, 35 Brown Street.
