Mid-Michigan Ukulele Group Strum (MMUGS)
We are a Ukulele Group that is here for FUN and FRIENDSHIP with a focus toward COMMUNITY SERVICE.

We use our own MMUGS Song Books that are formatted to be EASY to READ and FUN to SING! We play ONLY FUN, EASY 2-8 chord songs that make our group BEGINNER FRIENDLY as well as FUN for the experienced player.

We practice / Strum together on Saturday's, once a month, at 10:30AM, at Elderly Instruments. We also perform together around our community. All are welcome!!

The purpose of the organization is to play the hammered dulcimer together with other instruments for our enjoyment, and to promote and encourage knowledge of the hammered dulcimer through regularly scheduled meetings, workshops, performances, newsletters and other related activities. We are into our 22nd year of acoustic music and singing, sharing, camaraderie, mutual learning, teaching, fellowship and supporting. We offer a family friendly, safe, clean, inclusive, relaxed, informal, fun, often challenging (in a good way), enjoyable, exercise of our interests and talents, environment.

We embrace many genres of music. We have and welcome all skill levels.
We include many kinds of string instruments, accordion, concertina, Bodhran, flute, Irish Penny Whistle, recorder, harmonica, marimbula, Jaw Harp, Rhythm instruments, and many fine singers.

Acoustic music jam featuring the "Round Robin" format; playing genres such as bluegrass, country, oldies (but goodies!), Praise & Worship, sing-a-longs, folk and easy listening. Bring your acoustic music instrument (i.e.: guitar, autoharp, mandolin, violin, banjo, hammered dulcimer, etc.) or just come to listen and enjoy. You'll meet some of the nicest people!

We invite ukulele players of all abilities to join us for monthly meetings where we will strum and sing. All music will be projected on a screen so that we can all follow the lyrics and chords. So bring your Ukulele and your Voice for a good time. Our monthly meetings will begin at 7 pm on the first Wednesday of the month. Refreshments and snacks will be provided and you are welcome to bring snacks to share. A donation of $3.00 is requested. Your first visit is FREE!
